My name is Mainiti, also known as Mimi.  I am 41 years of age, Hawaii native but currently living in St. Louis, Missouri.  I always had a passion for fashion; however, growing up as a tall curvaceous girl for practically all my life, I found myself feeling discouraged knowing that I did not fit the “ideal model” type.  I had the height but never the weight that majority of the agencies, photographers, etc., were looking for.  Therefore, I ended up talking myself out of one of my dreams that I had since I was a little girl.

 

I changed my direction in life, went to college for accounting and nursing in 1998 at University of Nevada Las Vegas, finished with a Bachelor’s at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and obtained my MBA from Webster University.  I was blessed with a fabulous government job and on the side, I prepare tax returns and blog about fashion events and everything that I love.  In my other spare time, when I am not hanging with friends, chilling with my doggie, shopping, soaking up the sun, or “trying” to be lazy, I love volunteering at the Red Cross and various homeless shelters around town.

 

In December 2011, I found my passion for modeling once again but with more confidence than ever before.  All the struggles made me who I am and I would not want it any other way.  I am proud to say that I am one of the faces of Honey's Child Boutique and the face of Haus+ of Sierra Moses.  I have learned to embrace and love my curves that God has blessed me with.  It is truly amazing that I am able to inspire others to follow their dreams and "F" society's standards.  Unless you believe in life after death, you only have one life and why not love all that makes you, YOU!!
